Do you see what I see???

This is a picture of me and Dylan taken over New Years in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl. I tried to quickly find a picture of just me, but we all know that momma's are barely even in a picture much less ALONE in one. Geesh. Sooooooo.....this is what I found at first glance through my pictures. Work with me. :)

I have had so much going on mentally that at times I have felt like my heart and head would simultaneously explode. It's been one of those weeks where I have said, at least 38 times a day, "I'm emotionally spent." We all know that feeling. It's really hard.

Thank goodness I'm in Bible study every week and doing daily homework to get me deep into the Word. It's carrying me. He's carrying me.
And, after today's video session 8 of Esther, I've got something to ask you after you read this fabulous quote....

"In the eyes of the world, it is not our relationship with Jesus Christ that counts; it is our resemblance to him."

What do I see when I look in the mirror or am thinking of myself? What do I "see" when you say Fran. Here are a few things that come to mind at this very moment:
1. I'm not happy with my physical appearance (the closer I get to 40)!
2. I'm heavy hearted over situations beyond my control.
3. I'm lonely for deep, meaningful friendships.
4. I'm scared of many things right now.

But, none of that means anything if I don't have Jesus carrying me, walking alongside me, fellowshipping with me, or speaking to me. So, with all that Jesus time that I'm spending....do I see Him when I look in the mirror?? Not usually at first. I don't even capture that mindset usually.

More importantly though....do others see Him in me?
Do others see Jesus in you? Or, do they simply see someone who knows Jesus, but isn't showing Him?
Think about it. I am.
Blessings~

I loved Esther! It was so good.

God is good. A journey with him always involves deep thinking and wonder. Love these moments.

I am chuckling about #1. Are any of us ever??? I have the funniest video of the puppies chasing each other, BUT they are circling a buddha-like figure (me) sitting in the floor. So, I do not want to post it. When I read #1, I thought, "well at least you are thin." ;)

Great post. I need to be reminded on a regular basis.

Thanks for that post....I see all four of those things staring back at me...with the exception that I am well over 40.

And even if I have not said it out loud, I have thought it every few hours... that I am emotionally finished with a situation that brings me so much sadness and pain but there is absolutley nothing I can do to fix it.

I would feel blessed to call you one of my good friends... Friends are definitely a blessing, but God must always have the first place in our hearts...

AND...I just put up a post on a Christian movie that is coming out on Friday... I am encouraging all to go see it if it is playing in their movie theaters... A did a tiny write up about it on my bloggy..

Blessings, Kim

I was listening to the audio of Session 8 on my iPod on the flight over to Dallas a couple of days ago. That quote threatened to throw me out of my chair, toppling the drink on my tray into the sleeping man's lap next to me! I was FLOORED by it!

I've been chewing on it since.

It is our resemblance of Him. That's exactly it! And no, half the time I don't act like that. Especially when I'm not allowing myself to fully be filled up with Him and walk in accordance with the Spirit and not my flesh. The flesh is a much easier way to go! It's kind of what I just wrote about, too, on my blog! I am seeing a theme among blog world.

Love ya! Have a great Thursday!

Such a great post. I have heard so many good things about the Esther study, I need to be a part of the goodness.

And if I had to make a list mine would read very closely to yours, except I turned 40 last year. :-)

Blessings.

Fran -- this just slammed me. What DO people see when they see me? I'm praying for me to decrease and Him to increase.

And #3 just has me close to tears. I'm praying for that in my life. I'm great with the LOTS of friends, but truly scared of the meaningful friendship. Lot of work going on in this life.

Thank you for making me think.

Hi Fran,
I came across your blog randomly and I can totally relate to the head/heart similtaneously exploding, especially in these closing weeks of my college spring semester. I just wanted to say I really appreciate and am encouraged by your honesty and your testimony of faith.

I blog so you can get a glimpse into my life as wife, mom of 3 boys, and someone who simply wants to bless others along the way. Have fun and be sweet :)
