It is Sunday night as I sit here typing this thing out and I am not happy. You want to know why? My Cardinals and that beloved Kurt Warner did not win. I really thought we were going to pull it off at the end. I'm not a Steelers fan...AT ALL. I'm sorry, I'm just not. I've watched this entire Super Bowl and have had sooooo many things swirl around in my little head during this game....

Here we go....

1. Life is simply hard. Period.

2. Sometimes the good guy doesn't win...but, Kurt Warner is always the winner. What a fabulous role model for kids.

3. My kids got disappointed today. There was pouting. Life was hard for them...for a minute.

4. We are continuing to pray as a family over a decision that we have to make...see post below.
Life is just hard. God doesn't work like I want Him to sometimes. :)

5. My parents have had a rough was diagnosed with crappy is currently in the hospital with broken ribs and pneumonia. Life is hard. There is not enough of me.

6. People disappoint you. People you least expect disappoint you and it hurts. Life is hard.

7. I need Jesus MORE THAN EVER because life is hard.

8. Sometimes you feel lonely and that no one likes you. Life is hard.

9. The news on tv is terrible. I'm on a news media fast because it's gotten to me. Life is hard.

10. Some Super Bowl commercials were ridiculous and completely not appropriate for kids. Irritates me what we've come to. Life is hard. Parenting is hard.

When I sit here and feel smothered and completely heavy...I watch the Office and instantly feel better. Ha! But, seriously, I am quickly reminded of a favorite scripture....

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand." Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)

Be encouraged my friends. I know your life is hard too. It just is. Draw so close to the One who never leaves you.

Have a peace-filled day! I love you all!
Hugs and blessings~

For my dear friend, Fran!

"Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God.

Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer. I find myself praying for you with a glad heart.

I am so pleased that you have continued on in this with us, believing and proclaiming God's Message, from the day you heard it right up to the present.

There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears. "

(Philippians 1:3-6 THE MESSAGE)

With much love,

Yes, life IS hard. I am so glad we do not have to walk this journey alone--we have our Good God and our family and friends. And we have enough...we have enough.

Love you, Fran!

PS I was so disappointed tonight, too, about the game.

I so hear you! I was worried about the commercials to, but I must have dozed off during some of the bad ones! When I was watching with my kids they were not what I expected, but I am so with you on the commercials getting worse and worse! I also thought that the Steelers were making some very unsportsmen like moves out on the field! Shame on them!

Oh, if it weren't for the RIGHTEOUS RIGHT HAND, where in the world would we be? Life IS hard, but we have that Hand to hold on to.

Love you Fran,

Yes, it is.

But you made me laugh last night and this morning when I saw your play-by-play twittering. (Is it okay for me to say I didn't watch ANY of the game?!)

Exactly what I needed to hear!
This morning I am pressing into my Sweet savior for GRACE because parenting is HARD. Being in a close knit community is HARD. Giving an offense over to the Lord is HARD.
He is able to do exceedingly abundantly more then I could hope or imagine in all areas of my life.
Love you Sister! Praying

Everything you said here is so true. Life is simply hard. I just keep in mind that this is only temporary and my eternity will be so, so sweet.

Trials are so hard, but they are invaluable to our lives as Christians. I know that you already know that! :)

Keep leaning on Him each day. He has promised to hold our hands.

Love and hugs to you,

you are loved and isn't it awesome to know that? While life is hard, for each one of us, it is much more bearable because the One that can be holding us, if only we will let HIM, will not let us go.

Oh, thank YA Jesus!

Hi Fran! I haven't left a comment in a long time (I dropped the ball on the whole blogging thing evidenced by the fact that my last post is Jan 2008:) ) Anyway, I just happened to check your blog and found God speaking to me. I just had a conversation last night with my husband about a hard situation with a friend and his advice was to pray and ask God what are you trying to teach me thru this? There is really nothing I can do to change it, but God could teach me thru this situation. #'s 6,7 and 8 all hit home for me. Thanks for the reminder that Jesus is the only one who is faithful and that I can depend on! And that we can all feel lonely at times!

I hear your heart Fran because it is my heart too. My heart is much more heavy than light that is for sure. My joy is fueled so much by my grandson, as you are with your boys but at the same time the darkness of this world is relentlessly in our faces...the office last night was a scream :)) thanks for reminding me.

will pray for your parents. they are so blessed to have you as their daughter.

Yes, life is hard, so hard sometimes that it is too hard to blog or anything else! (for me). Love you my friend, and your pain is mine as a sister in Christ.

I blog so you can get a glimpse into my life as wife, mom of 3 boys, and someone who simply wants to bless others along the way. Have fun and be sweet :)
