So very happy!

There are so many reasons why I love where I live....I'm not sure if it's a Southern thing or if this stuff occurs everywhere....I've only lived in the South.

And, by the South, I mean I have lived only in Arkansas, Tennessee, and South Carolina. My other favorite Southern states are Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia.

Nothin like the South. It gets so hot and so humid at times you question if there is really air out there. You cannot breathe it can get so thick. That's gross, but when it's all you've ever known, it becomes ok.

I hate hearing western folks talk about how hot it is in Phoenix or something and they have no humidity. "It's dry." Don't feel sorry for them. You can take it.

There are some things that I just wouldn't trade for anything....And, I'll share through pictures because we all love pictures.

Atlanta Braves baseball....

This would be Chipper Jones...kids love him!

These would be goats, yes goats, behind some "motel" in Georgia. We had lunch at "the Dairy Queen" next to the "motel."

I found this green teeny tiny frog on one of my chairs on the patio. No bigger than your thumb.

This is a "farm cat" and her babies...

These are baby turkeys. TURKEYS. I will post about them tomorrow. They are one day old. Waiting on the last one to hatch. Simply amazing.

I love where I live.

I hope you have a wonderful day wherever you may be!

Hugs and blessings~

And, if you've been around long enough, you know how I feel about these guys...

Girlfriend, just this morning I was walking and felt the very, VERY balmy air move oh-so-slightly. I immediately thanked God for that nice "cool" breeze - you take what you can get when you live in the South (and we Floridians know a thing or two about humidity!).

I have a flock of turkeys that are frequently our back yard. Wonders never cease.

Have a beautiful Hotlanta day!

XO Melinda

I was born and raised in east Tennessee hence the love for the VOLS and all things southern. I like the Braves but I am not a big baseball fan. I think I am too consumed with college football. LOL

Let's talk sweet tea. I have heard a saying that sweet tea is the wine of the South. Amen. LOVE me some sweet tea and I wish the rest of the country would catch on. It would make it better when we travel all over to these conferences.

I love animals. Turkeys, I can't wait to read about this. Are they future Butterball turkeys? Just asking. :o)

I can't see a cow without thinking of you and that probably sounds bad to people who may not know us. hehe I know and appreciate your love for cows. Me too!!! They are so cute!! Also, where else can you go to Dairy Queen and stay at a hotel that has goats in the back of the place? Gotta love us.

Love You,
Patty

I live in Southern Missouri, almost in Arkansas, does that qualify as the South? I'd like to think so, but I'm sure some would disagree! Once I was in Pascagoulah, MS, and someone asked me where I was from. When I told them, they said..." OH, Y'all are from the NAWTH!" :)

Oh how you love those cows. I guess I have taken cows for granted all my life since I grew up with a field full of them beside my house.
I also feel no sympathy for people who say they are burning up in Phoenix - they dont know what it is to burn up and melt at the same time---is there steam on the sidewalks there? I think not.
Ya cant go wrong with trip to Turner Field. Fun, fun, fun......tomahawkin' for Chipper while eating Hot dogs and nachos, - what could be better?
I think people who live up North just cant appreciate all the goodness that is below the Mason Dixon Line!

Hmmm...perhaps if I had actually READ the part about you only living in Arkansas, Tennessee and South Carolina, I would've noticed the glaring omission of Georgia and NOT commented on you living there!

Sheesh.

You are just too cute. I had to chuckle at those cows. I was born in Texas and lived there & Oklahoma for the first 10 years of my life...so, I understand the humidity factor...you just sweat all the time! But, I've heard where you live is even worse...Glad you love where you live though. That's important. Have a great day friend!

THanks for stopping by. We are so very blessed. Thank you for sharing the joy. Isn't it really something that the bond of Christ makes us into one body, regardless of where we live? God is so gracious. Blessings abound.

Do you consider Michigan in your favorite states? It's south of Canada! I can't wait to hear your Southern accent! Loved your pictures, especially when they include you and your kids. You are beautiful, Fran!

I saw your comment on the Lproof blog and wanted to stop by and say hello.

I love the south, people from up north have no idea what it's like to have 100 % humidity and not a cloud in the sky, do they?

Awesome pictures my friend.

Love the cows again! Here in HOT Houston, we are needing portable oxygen masks (humidity) and huge umbrellas for the afternoon rain. All this humidity has GOT to slow the aging process!

Love,
Dana

I too just love living in the South! I can't wait to hear about the turkeys. We have about a dozen that come every year around the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. I will go out in the evenings and try to get a close up photo...yeah...no picture yet. =)

I love the south, too. there's something so deeply enjoyable about that part of the country. I love that the people of the south are so deeply patriotic to their homeland, too.

For now, though I'm enjoying my little version here... SOUTHern California... that's almost the same, right?

Looks like you guys are having a grand ole time!

And I totally agree about the heat. I would take dry heat over humidity any day of the week!

Now you southerners might think the people in the north do not know a thing about humidity...but actually it does get plenty humid here. It just doesn't stay humid for months on end. More like weeks on end. But we know the can't breathe-why bother drying your hair-sweat in places you would rather not discuss- humidity you speak of.

Actually, why don't you come on up and see for yourself! :)

I moved around as a child a lot because my Dad was in the Military. We ended up here right before high school. Even though the family has moved several times after I graduated, I chose to stay right here and I love this place and my home so much. I can't imagine living in a big city. You are so right about the heat and humidity though:)Thanks for reminding me just how greatful I am about where I live.
Blessings,
Linda

Hey just FYI! That little guy in front, I had one just like him growing up! His name was Jethro! When we sold him my dad actually gave me the money!

I blog so you can get a glimpse into my life as wife, mom of 3 boys, and someone who simply wants to bless others along the way. Have fun and be sweet :)
