Just so grateful

I just have a heart that wants to explode. A heart that is just in awe of God's beauty and provision and the details, people. THE DETAILS. He is all over some details right now and I love to see Him do that. So very cool.

We are out of school today for Winter Break. I never had that as a kid, but as a momma, I'm thrilled to have this day where the kids can sleep in and just rest.

I'm going with my hubs to Memphis tonight to celebrate a late birthday and Valentine's Day. The kids are squared away and looking forward to a fun time without mom and dad!

I asked some of y'all on Facebook yesterday what you thought of Valentines Day and most of you agreed that you don't need a singled out day to let your significant other know that you love them. So, I've been thinking.......

Do we take the time to let the people we love the most, let them know we love them? I doubt it.

I sure don't. Life becomes life and we are pulled in 101 directions and we are simply going through the motions and we are just tired. Poor, pitiful excuse isn't it?

So, as I take the time to think about how beautiful God is right now in my life, I want to slow down this weekend and see Him at work in the details of life with my husband and kids. He's all over the place with us and I'm glad that I have some time with just hubs to see it and enjoy it.

Why don't you slow down this weekend and do it too. Look for God in the details and let your heart overflow with joy and love. I think He's one cool God. I'm in awe.
2 Corinthians 13:14 "May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all."

Hugs and blessings~

I came across you site and just love it. I linked to my site and am following you. I have raised and released 2 great and godly men into the adult world. I write a daily blog to encourage moms in the fine art of Christian mothering and I have taught a Bible study for MOMS for nearly 20 years now. I do love me some mommas! Click over and link to me if you feel we are like-minded. Blessings as your raise up your flock for the Lord Jesus.

Franny-Fran! It's Georgia Jan! I love you and I hope you had a blast on your date tonight. My sweet man showed up at my office today with a dozen pink roses, a card, and a lunch date. He had been out of town at a music/worship pastor's conference, so I was soooooooooooo glad to see him.

I am enjoying this rainy night in Georgia and the peace of being home.

And girl let me encourage you that the empty nest is a good thing.

I miss my boys (I love boys) and cherish those happy times that you are in right now, but it is oh so wonderful to be friends with them and their wives now that they are all grown!

And you know I've got that precious grandboy now too...

God is good, I love that He loves me and He speaks to me in the details of daily living...

Love you -
Jan

Dear Fran-I simply cannot beleive that this is YOU! I cannot beleive how God connected the dots. And you are Michelle's cousin. And you came to MOMS years back. I feel a divine appointment at work here! I remember meeting you way back when. It is kind of the Lord to allow our paths to cross again.I will check in on your site often. THank you for your encouraging words about the ministry to MOMS. It is the driving passion of my heart to teach God's Word to women, especially to mommas. And now Michelle is leading it at First Collierivlle! Oh my, my heart is so full of joy as I watch her grow into such a godly woman.

May the Lord bless you richly.

Fran, I just am now getting back home and to my computer and reading some blogs. i wanted to thank you with all my heart for the comments you wrote to my sweet Kelly during our time in the NICU with baby Harper. I really don't know you but now that I've come over and read some of your blog I see what a beautiful young woman you are, physically and spiritually!

You have three handsome sons and a great hubby too!
Wow! The flowers that he sent were so sweet!

We just appreciate all you fellow Jesus-loving bloggers who gave all our family so much support when we needed it so much! He certainly met all our needs and then some! "Abundantly above all we could ask or think..." That's our Lord!!

Thank you again and blessings to you and your sweet family!

Fran,

What a wonderful post...and such a truth! Life gets so busy that telling those we love the most how special they are, sometimes takes a backseat.

I have just joined the blog world. I have wanted to for over a year, but was just not sure I could add anything else to my list of "to do's"! Part of me was and still is afraid of getting addicted...as I love a "good story"! Couple that with being a night owl and I could read blogs all night. Then Holly and Patty decided to start a business. I was happy to be a starter for them.

I think I met you briefly in San Antonio, but it was a weekend that I had met up with a dear friend that I had not seen in 22 years, so we spent every spare minute catching up. It seemed like I barely landed when it was time to board the plane back to Shreveport. I just remembered you had boys! And I love little boys. We have 3 grandsons and another "boy" arriving in June.

Stop by my blog when you have a chance. I have so much to learn.

Teresa

I blog so you can get a glimpse into my life as wife, mom of 3 boys, and someone who simply wants to bless others along the way. Have fun and be sweet :)
