I would rather only wear one hat

“The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today, is Christians, who acknowledge Jesus with their lips and walk out the door and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.” What if I stumble by DC Talk.

Whatcha think about that statement? Do you find it true? What about that last sentence? Something about this hit me square in the eyes.....and then the heart.

I've been known to wear many hats in my life. And, these hats don't have to be the real cute ones either. I've been known to wear hats that say, "Look I'm a Christian, but I'm sure not acting like one in this rather large group of people." I have a feeling I'm not the only one either. I still struggle with this. There are still people in my life, WHOM I LOVE, who can suck me into the gossip world so dang fast. I can get sucked into a lot of things real fast.

I'm trying really hard to be the same person among one, among 21, or among 101.

If I died today, what would "they" say about me? How would I be remembered?

I hope everyone could agree that I loved Jesus with all my heart.......and you could see it by the way I lived my life.

Now, lets walk the walk and talk the talk, ok? It is a daily inspiration, isn't it?

Psalm 37:23-24 "If the LORD delights in a man's way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand."

Have a wonderful day! Be filled....God is good.
Hugs and blessings~

I think I would also like to add that yes, I think that is true BUT I think another BIG thing that keeps people away from Christ is the way believers treat other believers. They are watching what we are doing inside the church more than what we are doing outside the church. More people have been driven away from God and church by the hurt inflicted upon them inside the church than anything they see in our lifestyle outside the church.

Amen and amen!

Lord, let it be so.

Cause us to cross over to the other side! Swink or swim, I'm climbing in....

I agree with you 150% and with Patty too......we have to "look and act" differently so they want what we have, not look and act just like them so they think we are hypocrites.......

A great big amen to this my friend.

I do agree with that statement
There are many "Christians" that I have seen on TV or in the media that I am honestly ashamed of - I am sure it turns of other people just as much
Also Patty makes a great point!
Having lived through a very painful church situation I know that it challenged my faith - so I can see how non-Christians want none of it!
Makes me so SAD!
Because God is so wonderful, faithful, honest and True!
I can only pray that I will be a positive impact for Him!
Much love
Kim

Amen sista! Set apart doesn't mean we go unseen, if anything it means we are watched even more closely!

I had to stop in and say "hi". I think we comment on about 5 of the same blogs. Your profile picture has become very familiar to me!!

I love that statement - it is the ultimate challenge to any Christian. My prayer every day is that others would see Christ through me.

I will be back to visit!

Just had a short talk about Gossip... How easy it is to say unnecessary things about each other.
Does it edify?
Does it encourage?
Do they want it to be shared?
whew... It's so hard to regulate the heart sometimes.

No, make that ALL the time!

Oh Fran, you are so right. Looking at Jesus, while He was on this earth, people were drawn to Him. They saw the answer to their need. If I am in an intimate relationship with Christ, then His holy Spirit will flood through me. People will see Christ in my actions, my words, in me. People will be drawn to Christ because He lives in me. Oh how I wish I was more consistent in living that way.
