The info in my brain is about to BUST OUT!

My undiagnosed ADD is in HIGH GEAR right now and has been when it comes to this blog so let me spit out some interesting, disturbing, happy info that continues to spin around in my head.

** I had to strategically place myself in front of some magazines at Target the other day. WHY? Because that nutty plastic surgery junkie from Hollywood/LA and I totally can't think of her name right now.....was plastered on the front of this magazine talking about her boob jobs. WHAT IN THE WORLD PEOPLE???? Shoot me now. Poor nearly 14 year old boy. I'm sure he was wondering why mom was standing like a fool and not moving until we absolutely had to.

** To date I have not watched one solid episode of the Bachelorette. This is huge. Could care less about these guys. They seemed so weird from the get go and I think I had some insight into this summer season and said...."no thanks...can't handle the stupidity." But, really...this is not new to this show and I know that.

** I miss serving in a church. Really really really happy with where we have been going, but I'm ready to jump in and serve again.

** I obsessively check my kids facebook pages 627 times a day and am amazed and what is going on out there and there is not one thing I can realistically do about some pictures and words and junk that is happening on THE MIDDLE SCHOOL LEVEL. Step up to the plate parents and stop some of this mess.

** It's too hot to eat.

** Call me crazy, but Spongebob really does make me laugh.

** I'm jealous of the iphone people out there. No denial.

** I get to go to Orange Beach/Gulf Shores/Black Beach in a few weeks. Lots of documenting to come. And, I'll be ticked about it too. ;) Watch out BP.

** I want to put my kids in a bubble. Oldest will be 14 next month and life is about to drastically change. I'm not sure if I can handle it.

Whew....I feel so much better. Thanks for playing along.
Happy Summer!!! Don't burn up and melt.

Love ya!
Fran

Girl, I agree with you on every random point of interest (except the "its too hot to eat"....its only too hot to eat if you are outside! Its plenty cool enough to eat inside my house - know how I know? Cause I am doing plenty of eating here....just sayin')

I do not watch the Bachelor or Bachelorette - its soft porn on TV and the idea of finding your soul mate in a hot tub filled with sex kittens, just doesnt seem normal to me.

I am mad about the oil - I am boycotting BP - not that my $40 every week will make a difference, but it makes me feel like I am taking a stand. Matter of fact, we go to Disney in a few weeks and I am afraid that it will be even more crowded because everyone is changing their beach plans -- dern BP.....Billions of $$$ and they cant stop a leak???? REally?

If I could put my kids in a bubble - I would. Heck, I'd put them in a double bubble.

I am jealous of the iphone people, but am too cheap to purchase one or pay for the service. If I get one it will be a gift.

My son doesnt have a FB page. Matter of fact, I rarely let him on the internet (they use the internet at school and for schoolwork wiht my supervision of course, but that's it). I will let him look up something he is interested in, but only if I am standing beside the computer. I never had a computer growing up (there was no internet then) and I have become a functioning, "semi-"productive member of society. We are getting back to the basics - play, bikes, water guns (because we are too cheap to put in a pool), baseaball/kickball/football in the yard (when we arent on the field - yikes! its all-star season - we will be playng baseball til October!)........I know the time is coming when I will have to loosen the reigns, but for now, I am being the "mean, damper of social skills, no fun" kind of mom. And so far, its working well.

I have been known to turn magazines around in stores, so that the next pair of innocent eyes coming by will not have to subject themselves to the images plastered on the covers. I agree with all of the points you made. I wish I could keep my kids young forever. It's hard to let them go.

Fran -- I'm tracking with you, girl! Magazines make me want to scream and from the Mom of girls, I HATE what they are telling girls to be -- super skinny, overly made-up, and highly sexualized! DONE with them.

I do have severe iPhone envy, but I do love me some Droid.

Life will change with that 14 yr old, but these are good years. I love the teenage years, well, most of the time.

Hi Fran,
I hopped over to your blog from Gran Jan's blog and I do recognize you from the LPM Blog. Just wanted to say hello from one siesta to another.
Your life raising 3 boys into men is a challenge and joy so I pray that God would continually give you the wisdom that you need to guide your guys. My cousin has 3 boys (12, 10, and 8) and her boys are really into going to church right now, she is not. I will pass on your blog address to her so that she can read about another mom of boys :)
Have a blessed day!

Bless your heart!! Loved that post. It was kinda like my Monday mess post this past week. Just a bunch of randomness.
