His Word has truly been life this week

What a couple of weeks this has one week, a mom to one of youngest son's lost her battle with cancer and she was buried. These 11 year old children handled this loss with such love for their classmate.  This past weekend, one of my dearest friends son was killed tragically in a car wreck. Needless to say....these last 5 days have been extremely difficult. However, I watched one of the most Godly women I know carry herself through unspeakable devastation with Jesus and her faith in such a way that you stood back and in a weird sort of way wanted to watch. I have learned so much from my friend Cindy that I wish I could tell you all I saw and heard that was a blessing to others as this momma dealt with the death of her firstborn son at the tender age of 18.

Cindy taught me to pray and seek the Lord in all I do. She showed me to live life authentically and I cherish our friendship in the deepest places of my heart.

My memory verse comes out of her son's funeral and it seemed fitting to really know and remember the power of this verse as I process these last few days.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28 NIV

Oh is such a gift. Love your children well. Live for Jesus. Be as real as you can. Cindy taught me how to do these things. It matters when we can't manage to find the air to breathe. His Word is life.

Fran, you are such an inspiraction to me! You are such a beautiful person and I love you!

I'm often amazed at how sometimes I can have my verse planned ahead of time and I'm all prepared and then at the last minute He will give me the verse it needs to be.

As holy people whom God has chosen and loved, be sympathetic, kind, humble, gentle and patient. Colossians 3:12 GWT

Oh Sweet Frannie, I adore you and admire you beyond words! You are such a gracious and precious friend. I am praying for you and the Jesus that I KNOW shines through you as you love on those around you right now. Praying for these children as they bear more than their sweet young hearts should know and I am praying for Cindy and her family as she bears a loss that no mama ever should. Lord Jesus be near!!

And, here is mine:

If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well. But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors. For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it.

James 2:8-10 ESV

Life is just dang hard, isn't it??? My Bible study friends and I talked about this on Wednesday night!! I just keep rehearsing Romans 5 that says hope does not disappoint and suffering produces perseverance produces character and character produces hope!

I'm never did post March 1, so I'm posting both:

March 15: "So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised." Hebrews 10:35-36 NIV

Lord, may little Blake feel your presence and KNOW that you are carrying him close to your heart!

Just came from the funeral of a young girl that had grown up with my son...She got up Friday morn...had a headache...her Dad is a doctor and by 3pm she was dead from a brain bleed....She was able to donate 9 organs ....amazing....

AS they closed the service we sang "We Shall Behold Him" and a new meaning it took.....Life is fragile

Beautiful blog post, Fran. I'll be praying for these families as they move through their grief on their way to a new normal. May Jesus be so near them that they see Him everywhere they look.

James 1:1-4
1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations: Greetings.
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

I blog so you can get a glimpse into my life as wife, mom of 3 boys, and someone who simply wants to bless others along the way. Have fun and be sweet :)
