Confession and a new memory verse!!

Y'all...seriously...I think it's still February or something. IT'S APRIL!!! It's mid-April! May will be here in two days. ;) Goodness gracious the time is flying. I must be old. That's what happens right?

Before I share my memory verse I have a couple of confessions. Ok.....here we go : I didn't memorize my last verse at all. AT ALL. I will go ahead and tell you that I moved my spiral from my dashboard in my car to my purse thinking I would go over my verses more when in reality the spiral never ever ever left my purse. Ugh. Big fat hang my head low. And while I'm at it...I had to go back to my previous blog post and look what I even selected as my verse. GOOD GRIEF people. But...this is life and I got slightly off track. However, this I know....we are full of grace and love and encouragement around here and there is absolutely no condemnation when we fail or drop the ball. Thank you Jesus for showing us how to do that. I will grab my spiral out of my purse now...write down TWO verses and start fresh.

I picked this next verse because it is just all up in my business for many different reasons and it has deep meaning to me right now. This verse reminds me of how quickly we can lose ground in certain areas of our life...family, friends, work, activities, anything that brings glory to God if we don't guard or protect what we have worked for. Anything we work for can be lost. Satan can't have the people and the things that mean so much to me. He just can't.

Fran, Jackson TN "Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be fully rewarded." 2 John 8 NIV

Ok...let me hear your verse girls!! And if you are willing...why did you pick that verse? I just love y'all. .

Oh, how humbled I am by your confession sweet Fran! I, too, confess .... I fell off but I am going to fill my spirit with SO MUCH WORD THAT SATAN is gonna SQUIRM this week!!!

James 1:9-11
9 Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. 10 But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower. 11 For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.

REASON: I just started the James study and taking it slow...but it's all HIS DIVINE timing. I often fall into comparing myself to others that might have more than we do. These verses really humble me.

Blessings dear siestas! love you!

Romans 8:1 There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

I chose this verse because I am working on accepting God's love for me, ALL of the time and not based on my worldly circumstances.

Oh ladies - I think the enemy is at work here. I had to look up my last verse too. I have spirals EVERYWHERE and I have not picked up a single one since TWO verses ago and so never even wrote the last verse in them. I had to go to the last post to find out where I was too ...

But the enemy shall not prevail! Cause, no matter how slow or fast we are moving in this process, the fact remains we ARE implanting His word into our hearts. We are transforming our thinking with These Words and we ARE claiming victory in the Name of Christ! The enemy cannot steal what is tucked into our hearts ... we will ALWAYS have it, even if my verse were to be "Jesus wept". I would still take victory in that because I would KNOW that Jesus wept for you and me to show He knows and understands and LOVES us deeply. And no matter what I face in this life, I know that HIS tears will meet me on the other side of eternity and I will be free. Because He WEPT. Glory in the fact that even if it takes us 6 months to memorize John 3:16, we have not and will not labor in vain ... unless we give up.

So, let's not give up.

EVER.

Deal? Pinky promise!

That being said ...

But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!

There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.--Proverbs 23:18

I FINALLY decided to take the plunge and memorize w/ya'll. :) I chose this verse because I've had a lot of hurt and betrayal that has left me feeling hopeless, so this verse is a great reminder that feelings can be fickle. His truth is what restores.

"For God is great, and worth a thousand Hallelujahs!" Psalm 96:4 The Message

I picked this portion of the verse from The. Message because I love how it speaks to me in such real terms and reminds me to praise God in big ways. He is so worthy! I want this verse to be always on the tip of my tongue.

Have a great day, Fran! I'll be praying that each one of us remains in the Word and that grace flows continuously through us and to us.

In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. Psalm 5:3

Love y'all dearly!

Great verse Fran! I have struggled the last few weeks as well. I just watched a message by Charles Stanley that Michele M shared, "Discipline Determines Destiny". It really spoke to me about working toward a goal and not letting my feelings (mostly exhaustion) get in the way!! Thankful for a fresh anointing of grace this day!
1 Corinthians 9: 25-26a NLT
All atheletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step.

Let it be, LORD!

thank you, my friend!

I am starting to get really balled up with memorizing James, and feel I am to take a break and memorize what is speaking to me in my current. James memorized Chapter 1:1-11 so while I haven't posted the last couple of times, I was still memorizing. :-). So important to do so and I thank you for your encouragement.

Ok, better late than never, right? I am probably biting off more than I can chew this time, and I am CERTAIN that I may have to break this one up into 2 different memorization sessions, but these verses speak to me. I have a sweet friend who is walking through some darkness lately with a husband who has turned his heart away from the Lord, and has crushed his family with adultry and pornography. My sweet friend is standing strong, waiting for God to lead and these verses remind me of her, with her roots streched out by the water. :>) So here goes!

Jeremiah 17:5-8
"Cursed is the may who trusts in mankind and makes flesh his strength, and whose heard turns away from the Lord. For he will be like a bush in the desert and will not see when prosperity comes, but will live in stony wastes in the wilderness, a land of salt without inhabitant."

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose trust IS the Lord. For he will be like a tree planted by the water, that extends its roots by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes; but it's leaves will be green, and it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit."

Well I haven't forgotten my verses but obviously forgot to post!

"Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you." Job 22:21 NIV

I had picked this verse because I fail at submitting anything. I feel like I can handle it on my own and don't need to 'bother' God with every thing. But, of course, it doesn't work out at all. So I need to submit myself completely and this verse has reminded me of that.
