Another fab scripture

We survived Day 1 of VBS and I thought it was fabulous. Well, maybe fabulous is a bit strong. Let's just say it went really well for the 1st day. :)

There was one little boy who came to VBS and is young and has never been to our church. He has some buddies that he knows, but he is not a church member. He was scared and cried and really probably wanted to go home.

I talked with his ever so sweet mom downstairs for awhile. I reassured her. I told her stories about my own boys at his age at church. I bragged on her son. I told her that sweet moms were talking with him and holding his hand and loving on him. I hope I made her feel somewhat better and I hope I let her know we truly cared for her son.

That little guy struggled through the 1st little bit and then turned the corner and was having a great time. Sometimes, it's not the Bible lesson that we learn or the craft that we make or the fun songs we sing that make us happy. Sometimes, it's simply the love of someone else encouraging us or hanging with us when the day gets hard.

Life can be that way for us too. Sometimes we just need some love and encouragement along the way. I hope that today you will reflect Jesus by showing Him through your actions.

1 John 3:18 "Let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action."

Show the love of Jesus today! It's so sweet to see this love in action.

Hugs and blessings~

Well I was going to say; "this is so true..but the above comment says that, lol!! What more can I say, and you know "it really is sooo true!!"

Bless you for this post, I needed to read this today, to bring peace to an ongoing problem. I just need God to take and keep. I keep finding myself struggle with it, cause I find in some, they just think cause they say it..it is true. But God calls us to act accordingly to is word. You know a a Good tree by the "fruit it bears".

Bless you!!

I actually would change the "sometimes" to "all the time." It is always about the love. I might have heard that somewhere in Corinthians or something;) Anyway, as soon as you started talking about the little boy I was thinking that he would calm down as soon as he felt the love!

Keep doing it girl. You are not just offering the wonderful program that you have worked endlessly on...but you are offering it drenched in the love of the Father...it is what will bring the kids back! Keep doing it friend...run that race girl!

Fran,

What a sweet post. I just love the message you shared today. It is one that has been on my heart quite a bit lately.

"Preach the gospel at all times, and if necessary use words."

..and another one of my favorites,

"They won't care how much we know, until they know how much we care."

You were showing that precious little boy and his mommy Jesus. No greater blessing to our Saviour than that!

Love you! Joanne

Amen...I was thinking of how people have been doing that for me lately. Now, I think it's time for me to get up- brush myself off and get busy doing that for others.
Enjoy the rest of the week...it goes by fast! Love to you

Well, if my son was new to anything, you would be the one I would want to watch over him. Speaking of which I came to say to you Micah 7:7 - that your God is watching over you---may your trust in what you face be like Mt. Zion which cannot be shaken Psalm 125:2. Haven't heard from you in a bit, wondered if all was okay...?

I ran across your blog from Waiting for the Shout. This was a great blog. My son just returned from a youth mission trip to New York. Sunday night the youth talked alot about their trip, had pictures, etc. One of the recurring theme that each noticed while they were there was that people were so amazed at how they just wanted to help them and do something nice for them. Some were involved in dramas and skits on the street and others were just giving out simple things like popsicles. They had a big block party where everything was free. People just couldn't believe that everything was free and they heard over and over that nothing is free. That opened the door for them to share the gospel and let them know that salvation and the love of God was free. It is amazing what kind actions can do. Thanks for sharing.

That is so true! This is something that I strive to do. I'm not the best at telling someone what they need to hear, but I can so them love by doing something for them.

I can't believe that I can say this but... see you soon! woohoo!

I blog so you can get a glimpse into my life as wife, mom of 3 boys, and someone who simply wants to bless others along the way. Have fun and be sweet :)
